Helmira 1864-1865: The Andersonville of the North focuses on the controversial Elmira, New York Civil War Prison Camp, where over 3,000 Confederate prisoners died of disease and starvation from 1864-1865. "HELMIRA" looks back at the personal and political attitudes that led to much of the controversy over the camp, as well as how the city of Elmira dealt with this chapter in its history.
